FALL

Ah, the leaves are changing! The air smells soooo crisp and clean. It's such a calming time of the year!

Yeah, right!

For me, it's the frantic and harried time of year when I'm in full-on-craft-show-mode.  And it's also the beginning of the frenzied Christmas shopping period.  Throw in some planning and preparing for upcoming Holiday entertaining, and you've got a recipe for insomnia...  Thinking of all there is to do wakes me up at 4:00 in the morning most days.  While that does seem to give me a few extra hours to accomplish more each day-- I'm pooped by 8:00 every night and ready for bed, so I'm not sure how much of an advantage it really is...

Luckily for me, this is also the time of year when I actually get to try out different things product-wise.  The excitement of planning out the purses & aprons, choosing fabric and verses, and deciding what embellishments to add... stuff like that?  It revives me somehow.  Plus I love to getting (almost) immediate feedback from people in person at the craft shows.  It really helps me figure out what people like, and what doesn't work so much...  Kinda makes me wish I did shows all year round-- but not quite!

This year, I finally got around to designing some new Scripture Purses and using the pretty fabrics I bought last fall that I never found time to use.  Every one I finish seems to be my new favorite.  I have so much fun with these purses!  Here's a look at the purses in my shop (and the only Tote I have left in stock after this past weekend's show.)

I've also got an idea for a cute little ruffled Scripture Purse that's been rolling round in my head for more than a year now, but I'm not sure I'll find time to try it out this year either.  Sigh.  My serger is sick, and so there will be no more ruffles this year unless I find time to take it to the serger-doctor and hope that it can be fixed.  (Fingers crossed on that one!)

Now, back to the sewing machine!  Those bazillion already-cut-out-aprons are not going to sew themselves!  (And I know this because they've been sitting there for several weeks now and nothing's happened, unfortunately...)

Treasury Tuesday - Rose Red

It's time for that last desperate sewing frenzy leading up to my first craft show coming up this Saturday...  (It's 4:00 am-- why else would I be up???)  I don't get much sleep this time of year.  From September through December, sleep is in short supply.  So much to be done!!!  I'll sleep after Christmas is over...
