Treasury Tuesday

I will have to admit I was wrong about Etsy.

Many years ago, I very temporarily opened my first Etsy shop.  I needed to find a better venue for my online sales, because I had set up my very first website through Xaper (a free webhosting site, with many dreaded pop-up ads.)  I couldn't decide between creating a brand new website myself, or opening an Etsy shop.  I decided to give both a try.  I set up my new site through Yahoo-- and it was so much better than Xaper, I was in heaven.  Then I set up my Etsy shop... for about a week.  ONE WEEK.  (Back then, you had about that amount of time to decide if you liked it or not.  If you hadn't made any sales, you could close your shop and not be charged anything.)  Etsy was BRAND NEW at that time, and I wasn't sure if it would make it or not...  Ultimately, their fees scared me away.  (Seems to me that their fees were 2 times what they are now, but I could be remembering that wrong...)  Anyway, I didn't even give Etsy a chance.  I regret that now, because in the almost 5 months that I've had my current Etsy shop-- I have LOVED the community there.  Crafters helping crafters.  It's awesome!  I've met lots of great people there-- other shop owners and customers too.   

So now to the point of this post...  One of the fun promotion thingys that they do over there at Etsy are the treasuries.  Sellers or buyers can "curate" a treasury based on themes.  (I'm not explaining this very well, sorry!)  My first treasury had a poppy theme.  I just LOVE poppies!!!  So I searched all of Etsy for poppies, and created a treasury list of my favorite items.  (Here's the link if you're curious.)  I had so much fun making that treasury, that I've made several others since then.

So I think I will devote my Tuesday blog posts to sharing my favorite Treasury of the week.  Treasury Tuesday.  (Catchy, right?)  This morning I made a Turquoise Treasury featuring one of the Etsy Teams I belong to.  (Teams are another reason I love Etsy-- they are so supportive of members, they promote each other, and are willing to answer any questions you might have!)
